Aircraft history

The SIAI-Marchetti S.M.79 Sparviero was a multi-purpose low-wing three-engined aircraft, initially designed as a fast civil transport aircraft.

In the late 1930s it set 26 world records and was the fastest medium bomber in the world. Built in wood, canvas and metal, it was recognized by the typical "hump" behind the cockpit, which housed the 12.7 machine gun and its armourer.
